(H) RW12-12 (F) The outdoor high voltage AC drop fuse, popularly called the "fuse," is specifically designed for use in outdoor overhead distribution systems with an operating frequency of 50Hz and an operating voltage of 10kV. This fuse acts as a vital protective component for circuits and electrical equipment, effectively safeguarding them against overloads and short circuit faults within a power system. During normal operations, the fuse is securely connected in series along the power line, maintaining a tensioned state with a locked movable joint. In the event of a line fault, the excessive fault current triggers the fuse, causing it to blow. Consequently, the movable joint is released, allowing the fuse tube to swiftly drop, thus interrupting the circuit to ensure safety and maintenance of the line and associated equipment. This load type fuse is enhanced with an elastic contact and an arc extinguishing cover, making it adept at opening and closing the load current within the power system.

This fuse adheres to stringent technical standards, including GB / T 15166.3 - 2008, which covers high voltage AC fuses - Part 3: injection fuses, as well as DL / T 640 - 1997, which outlines the technical conditions for ordering outdoor AC high voltage drop-tested fuses and fuse links.
